What is the pledge-to-RISE movement?
RISE stands for Research with Inclusion, Social justice and Equity.
The #pledgetoRISE movement aims to advance equitable representation in medical research cohorts by empowering clinical researchers to take the first step towards data transparency together and report the demographic breakdown of research cohorts by race/ethnicity in their future work.
In modern medicine, patient management guidelines are developed from medical research outcomes. Therefore, equitable medical research strategies are needed to produce non-biased and equitable patient management guidelines for patients of all backgrounds. Let's work together to create 'color-conscious' not colorblind research.

Implicit Bias TestsIt is human nature to have bias, and that's okay. Discovering and acknowledging your implicit associations are the first steps toward preventing bias from influencing your research.

Pledge With UsIndividuals who commit to a common goal are more likely to accomplish it. Pledge alongside clinical researchers nationally to report the breakdown of underrepresented populations in your future work.

Research GuideHistorically excluded populations will make up at least 55% of the US population by 2060. Check out our collaborative research guide for tips on how to make sure your team is on track to producing equitable research.

For decades the medical community has adopted a "Don't Say Race" approach to clinical research.
Is it time to address colorblindness in medical research?
